GAMES

I’ve been a professional game writer and narrative designer for over seven years. My most recent project was the open-world survival shooter Once Human, which has attracted hundreds of thousands of players worldwide and currently boasts a Very Positive rating on Steam. IGN had this to say about the game’s worldbuilding in its 8/10 review:

“There’s no shortage of post-apocalyptic survival games out there... but Once Human makes its take on that setup feel unique and interesting by wrapping the end of the world around an alien infestation rather than your classic zombies or nuclear war scenarios. It’s a fun approach that, in hindsight, seems underused in the genre, and Once Human puts it to use in some really clever ways.”

You can check out a trailer for the game here.

Previously, I worked as a writer and narrative designer on some of the world’s most popular mobile games, such as King of Avalon. You can read a comic I wrote for King of Avalon’s Orlando Bloom tie-in character Orlando the Nightshard here.

I also enjoy making my own narrative games. You can play Together Forever, a short interactive ghost story I wrote using Twine, here.

In addition to all that, I enjoy writing criticism and reporting on games, like this deep dive into Chinese indie games and Steam for Chaoyang Trap, or this piece on how videogames are changing the action movie for Kill Screen.
